With 1000 DPI, a small movement of the mouse will produce a large mouse pointer shift in the screen. However, the sensitivity of the movement of mouse pointer is also controlled by setting of the mouse. By changing the mouse speed setting to a slower setting, the sensitivity of the mouse is reduced. In general, a new user should start with a slow setting and adjust the setting later according to the application and experience level.
Go to the control panel and click on the mouse icon to bring up the mouse setting pane from where the speed can be adjusted.
